Faith Filled Words

2 Corinthians 4:13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written: “I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak,
Over my life I have become more, and more convinced of the power of faith filled words. I never doubted that when my Heavenly Father spoke, or Jesus spoke that situations changed. What I failed to understand is that the Holy Spirit living in me, and you, makes our voice a force for good, or harm.
The world was formed, enemies defeated, healings and deliverance occurred, and even the weather changed as a direct result of the power of faith filled words. Proverbs 18:21 went so far as to declare that “the power of life and death is in the tongue” and Jesus declared that “by our words we will be justified or condemned (Matt 12:37)”. The absolute power to change the world around us lies in what we speak and yet it is all too easy to speak of destruction. I have seen words destroy marriages, children’s confidence, and be the cause of strife in the church. I have listened to Christian’s that are quick to share everything they “feel”, but never encourage others with the truth of ALL Jesus paid for at calvary. Until the Body of Christ learns to speak scriptural truth into life’s challenges, the church is going to continue to look like the world. The price our Savior paid was too great for His children to speak “death”.... Choose to speak LIFE!
An encouraging morning word from Steve at Sugar Grove Bible Church
